faux

I just thought this outfit was super pretty.  Anddddd it has a faux fur vest—faux is the french word for false.

I found a few vests at Zara, butForever21 has been slacking in their fur vest selection.  This was my favorite at Zara:

For the dress, Zara has that exact dress right now and Forever21 has a beige version that I still think will look pretty with that color of fur.

le soir en Paris

Wet cobblestone and a Vespa— This picture and outfit (thanks to Next-Trend) seem to embody the word Paris.  And lucky for me, is quite easily recreated.

First thing is first.  That cream colored blouse.  Zara has one juuuust like it, it even has a pocket, so for matching sake we can be as accurate as possible.

Now, high waist leopard skirt.  Leopard can be a scary thing but I think the best way to look like your faboosh Frenchophile self is to chose one piece that will represent the wildcat within you and dress yourself around it— much like she did!  This one is available at Zara as well.

Ok.  So the jacket she is wearing is currently the bane of my existence—a cape coat.  So I decided to try to substitute it another flowly coat that will fill the bill.  This is a french terry metro jacket from Forever21, and since french is in the name it just works.

And finalement as the French would say—the shoes!  I found these at Forever21.  In person you can see that the quality is good, because, let’s just be real, there is no worse foul than paying for cheap shoes that look cheap.

All you need is a pair of thick black tights and you can say Bonjour! to the le soir, the night!

capes, ponchos — les pélerines, les ponchos

CONUNDRUM TIME.  The Frenchies are loving cape coats and ponchos.  Helloooo, they love ponchos so much they were too busy discussing how cute their coats were to even create a French version of the word.

Helloitsvalentine, one of my favorites these days for French fashion blogging, has this too cute for words pelerine in one of her recent posts.

But where might I ask does a poor Texas girl acquire one?  The only thing Forever21 has to offer is this “creation”:

I’ve found more spectacular versions at a $100+ price point, but no hope at this point for something slightly more affordable.  Le sigh.

I have officially returned from my reign upon Shanghai and I feel like blogging on my tumblr!  Officially making the switch from wordpress back to tumblr and the Chinese government can’t stop me!  How sweet it is!

a weekend rich in chocolate

BlogdeBetty post Paque (Easter!) entry divulges the chocolate hangover we easter lovers unfortunately acquire.  However, she does point out how to have a half-off hangover by waiting until the day after Paque, for 50% off those darn chocolate eggs.

As for this outfit, can I please have those wedges?  The Zara in Austin doesn’t have them.  What I would give for some camel colored Zara wedges and a discounted chocolate hangover should not be disclosed in this blog.
